Members of the United States Senate are receiving satellite phones in preparation for a ‘man made’ disaster that ‘takes out communications’. A new report from CBS reveals that the Sergeant at Arms of the United States Senate is issuing taxpayer-funded satellite phones to US Senators to prepare for a “man-made” disaster that “takes out” all or part of America’s communication systems like landlines, cell phones, and the internet. According to the CBS report, while all 100 US Senators are eligible for the satellite phones, so far, they’ve been issued to roughly half of them.
