Art to me is more than a reflection of the world around us.
Art should be a vortex. Whether a visual art, a performance, a special event; I want each viewer, each individual, each group to be able to walk into my work experiencing it on all levels. At home at work, special events, everyday; I want you, for that brief moment in time, to walk through the door I have opened & become one with the art around you. Art should make your heart feel good.

An Equine Christmas Equine Christmas series by Brennan Artography
It’s no secret to those who know me that I Have an affection for horses. Horses represent determination, endurance, valor, freedom, travel, beauty, majesty, and spirit. In John’s revelation, the first horseman is on a white horse, carrying a bow, and given a crown, riding forward as a figure of Conquest. Although the horse was present in many different cultures, they represent the same concepts of freedom and power in all. In some cultures, white horses stand for the balance of wisdom and power. The horse is a universal symbol of freedom without restraint, because riding a horse made people feel they could free themselves from their own binding. In Torah, the horse often symbolizes great strength and courage, as well as spectacular beauty. Pay attention to movies and TV. In almost every movie you will see a horse as decor. Look in TV series and generally speaking, you will find a horse somewhere.

Happiness Lies In Your Own Backyard.
I went to Arkansas to visit a lifelong friend who was experiencing some health problems. It had been years since we had seen each other and I was excited to go, equally excited to get out into the community and take pictures. When I arrived, my vision of the visit completely changed. I wanted to be there enjoying the friendship much more than roaming through the area.Yes, that’s fun and we did it but the old adage ‘Happiness lies in your own backyard’ hit me like a ton of bricks. I would look out the kitchen window and a beautiful family of deer would walk into my life and share theirs with me. Wanting to experience every minute I could with them, I ventured outside hoping they wouldn’t bolt and run. I can still feel the wonder. This was a real family, looking out for each other, showing affection to each other, eating what they needed and leaving the rest. I watched them day after day, becoming part of their family. Everything was in harmony, no discord. There was a tenderness, actual love between them that left me breathless.Walking down the driveway path to the mailbox in my plaid lumberjack style jacket past the wood pile filled me with a very real joy. I never felt so alive. Looking out over the Ozark woods feeling the energy generated made me almost dizzy (perhaps from so many trees producing oxygen) but, whatever the reason it made me feel more alive. I wanted to bring that feeling to you, to allow you to walk into the picture and experience the oneness of our universe around you. Even if you live on concrete it is there, for it is everywhere. The universe is all around you. Walk into it’s wonders and become one with it.
The art is the story and the story is the art : Autumn Universe
Autumn is almost upon us and now is the time to welcome the season into our spaces, physically, emotionally and spiritually, for fall does fill your spirit, lift your emotions and generate joy in your physical spaces.
‘Kentucky Hay Man’ is one of my all time favourite shots. I was back in Kentucky and a friend of my cousin lived on one of my 6XG. grandfather’s homestead. She allowed me to spend time shooting on her property. She raises horses, goats, cows, chickens, makes goat soap, grows and makes wonderful teas. She has a tea shop/cafe in town that is exceptional. Everything is authentically organic as was in the days of my ancestors. It was a tremendously emotional experience for me to stand where my ancestors had stood and look out over the rolling foothills. On the drive back (leaving Kentucky is always hard for me), we passed by a farmer’s field and saw the Hay Man. I was in love. The owners create something each year for their goats to eat and that year it was the Hay Man. ‘Kentucky Hay Man’ continues to bring joy everywhere he goes. The goat is of course ‘The Kentucky Goat’ on my cousin’s friend’s farm. I love photographing animals, they actually pose for you.
‘Hay For My Horses” was shot at another stop, Fort LaMotte. I named it ‘Hay For My Horses’ because that is what it was when the Fort was a real part of the early American Landscape. I love America. I love my heritage. I never tire of walking into the image, becoming part of it, experiencing that moment, because all time exists at once. Red Cloud said ‘You are the center of the universe. The center of the universe is in me and in you’.
I am the result of eons of time, because of the past, and all that was existing and my ancestors “I” exist. I am also the progenitor of the future. Because of me the future will exist. Without me, without you there will be no future for the seeds of the future lie within us. The center of the universe exists in me, exists in you, exists in everyone, exists in all things in heaven and earth. We depend upon the past and the future depends upon us. Don’t let it slip by you. G-d bless.
Bring ‘Autumn Universe ‘ into your space and let it fill you with joy. G-d bless.

The Art Is The Story And The Story Is The Art
America is the most extraordinarily blessed country. Each American state has its charm. All are filled with their own unique beauty. Florida is blessed with palm trees and an awe inspiring ocean. However when October is your favourite colour you want to be where the seasons change. I have never failed to be left in a state of breathlessness with the glorious blaze of autumnal colours.
When life and how we live it is changing so rapidly, the earth remains stable in the wonder of its commitment to life. Nothing in life is constant but change and yet the changes of the seasons are a reminder that these changes are the constant.
Our earth continues to survive, and that fills me with a sense of joy, hope in commitment to life and security. And in particular this season, for which I am grateful. As I and many others spend more time at home; bringing the earth in with me is comforting. Surround yourself with what elicits a sense of happiness and it will improve your mind, your emotions, your health and your life.
I found, what I named, ‘Harvest Pond’ a couple of years ago just riding around on Wisconsin country roads. It made my heart jump to return and see that ‘Harvest Pond’ is a constant; constantly bursting in the same glorious breath stopping patterns of colour for each season.
Accepting that the earth is alive, I could have sworn the mirrored water smiled at me with it’s calming reflections. ‘Autumn Paint’ still walking in one of the richest palaces on earth.
The great plains of Eastern Minnesota offered a different but equal beauty. We pulled off the road and walked through fields to get permission to shoot for how could I leave that area without paying homage to the intelligence and emotions of this magnificent horse. Standing beside him as he looked out over the horizon I could almost feel his wishing to roam and so I actually delight in bringing him to you as “If Wishes Were Horses.”
